Miss Thompson's clientele has included Chase Home, J.P. Morgan, PwC LLP, Canada, General Electric, Larkin Community Hospital, FirstBank Puerto Rico, Sun American Bank, Ocean Bank, and a former Ambassador to the United Nations. Thompson has handled various commercial law matters for other prestigious organisations such as Hard Rock Hotels, the AIC Hotel Group, Nobu Eden Roc; and SBE Entertainment Group including owner/operator disputes, trademark infringement claims, as well as claims under the ADA Website Accessibility. Thompson currently is instructed as general counsel to a family office with several billions under asset management as well as handling most corporate matters for an iconic brand, which recently collaborated with the Emmy-award winning show, “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.”
Practice Areas
Cherish advises clients in all capacities from alternative dispute resolution to commercial litigation, bankruptcy, and appeals, including litigation issues relevant to the UCC, the NACHA rules, the EFTA, ISP-98 for letter of credit cases, indemnity, breach of fiduciary duty, foreclosures, and bankruptcies as well as international fraud, fraudulent transfer, and alter ego cases. She has substantive experience in creditors' remedies, covering executions, replevin, garnishment, fraudulent transfers, constructive trust, stay relief, conversion, civil theft, abatement, non-dischargeability; and domestication of foreign judgments. Thompson acts as general counsel to a few select family offices, drafting loan agreements, family trusts, pre and post-nuptial agreements, articles of incorporation, bylaws, articles of organisation, and handling sensitive probate matters.
Awards
America's Top 100 Bet-The-Company Litigators for 2023; Palm Beach Illustrated's Top Attorney for 2023; and a designated SuperLawyer for ten years, Thompson remains actively involved in charity, and has devoted her time to organisations such as the Junior League, Queen Charlotte's Hospital, and the Soldiers and Sailors of America as well as the Red Cross and Wounded Warriors. As part of the Zeus World Peace Foundation, she had the privilege to act as a local ambassador for H.R.H. the Prince Edward and the Duke of Edinburgh Charities and Awards. In Law School, Thompson earned a place on Law Review and Moot Court; additionally receiving the book award for excellence in Business Associations and volunteered for Helping Others through Pro Bono Efforts (H.O.P.E.) and Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (V.I.T.A.).

After boarding school, Thompson matriculated cum laude from the Johns Hopkins University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in English and Art History; completing the equivalent of a degree in Biology; and receiving a minor in Voice from the Peabody Conservatory. She studied at the Sorbonne Universite´ Paris as well as the London Academy of Performing Arts
Miss Thompson is a Solicitor in England & Wales and licensed to practice law in the States of New York, Florida, and Washington, D.C. She is also a certified mediator in psychotherapeutic mediation from Regent's University. She is conversant in Spanish and French, and has a rudimentary knowledge of Russian.
Miss Thompson's great grand-father was honoured with the Victoria Cross and the Croix de Guerre. Her godfather, Major General R. Holley Keefler, CBE DSO ED, was honoured with the Order of the British Empire and a Distinguished Service Order. Her family has always been patrons of the Ballet and Opera, keen sailors and equestrian enthusiasts.
